The Official Color of the 2012 Year

Drumroll please....and the 2012 Color of the Year is none other than Tangerine Tango. Now I know what you may be thinking. How can I possibly wear orange without looking like something you eat? Well, according to the people over at the Pantone Color Institute, the color Tangerine Tango is the reddish-orange hue that we need to feel encouraged to move forward onto new things in 2012. "There's the element of encouragement with orange, it's building on the ideas of courage and action, that we want to move on to better things. I think it would be a disservice to go with a relaxed, soothing color now," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute.

Many believe that colors can influence certain moods. Orange is thought of as a color that spark courageous moods, probably because it takes courage to even wear it. True or not, an increase in courage is what we desperately need in our world in every area. With the difficult times that many people encountered in 2011, a new zest for life and a new and fresh positive outlook is just what we may need to get up and make 2012 a great year. Although there is no promise that the Tangerine Tango will make you feel like doing the tango, what matters is that as you gear up to face a new year, you enter it with a positive attitude and optimism.

It would be worth a try to jump in on the color fun. If you need a night out on the town, buy a orange dress and go dancing. If you are looking for a spark in your business marketing approach, try adding Tangerine Tango to your promotional advertisements. Or maybe you simply want to liven up your home decor.
